Summer camp is a great opportunity for younger equestrians!

Our program is designed for boys and girls ages 6 and up, whether you are new to
horses or an experienced rider. Each morning campers will participate in an hour
group English riding lesson. We have horses of all sizes and levels to
accommodate each rider. Campers will groom and tack up their own horses. The
afternoons are spent in unmounted instruction. Topics include daily care,
nutrition, breeds, colors, parts of the horse and tack, disciplines, health and other
important parts of horsemanship. During the week, campers will design and paint
a wooden picture frame and have their picture taken with their favorite horse.
Each Friday is spent playing games on horseback and unmounted. When you think
you know it all there is always more to learn!

Camp Session Schedule

Camp hours are 9 am to 3 pm. Each day campers should bring lunch, snacks,
beverages, sunscreen, bug spray and an extra change of clothes.  There is a
refrigerator for food and beverage storage.  Campers are required to wear boots
with a hard flat sole and 1/2 inch heel that covers the ankles (a paddock boot).
SNEAKERS ARE NOT ALLOWED. Long close fitting pants are required during
mounted lessons (breeches, jeans, sweat pants).

Camp enrollment begins April 1, 2008. The cost per session is $325.  Each session
is limited to 10 campers. Campers that are interested in attending more than one
session may do so. A nonrefundable deposit of $175 per session is due with
registration, and a payment of $150 is due on the first day of each session. There is
a charge of $20/hour for campers who need to arrive an hour early and depart an
hour late. Please make note of which days this is necessary on your registration,
payment will be due on the first day of camp.

Please fill out registration forms completely and make checks payable to
Oakendale Farm.   Because of the amount of campers at different levels please
select 3 sessions and campers will be placed in groups accordingly.   Registration
forms may be handed in or mailed to the farm. All students must be accompanied
by a parent or guardian to the first day of camp to check that registration is
complete. Failure to complete registration will result in non participation until all
requirements are fulfilled.
Sessions will fill quickly so sign up early!
Camps for advanced riders are also available.
